Divorce is something that inevitably will happen to thousands of people in their lives. When a married couple owns real estate together and it comes time to decide what it would look like to buy the other spouse out or decide who keeps which property; a lawyer will have one of the parties find a realtor to give a current market value to help aide in the divorce settlement.
Typically for tax basis purposes, when someone passes away and leaves behind real estate, a date of death value will be required. If this is something you find you are in need of, please give me a call.
When doing a CMA, if there is not enough property information available from the person requesting the market value or from public records; I will need to order information from the county. If I need to do this for your market analysis, there will be an additional $25 charge.
